We’re thrilled to share some exciting news—Physical Culture has been voted the second favourite business in Putney, according to the latest Putney Town Consumer Survey conducted by Positively Putney.

Out of 149 businesses mentioned by survey participants, Physical Culture stood out as the runner-up, just behind Waitrose. This recognition reflects the strong bond we've built with our members and the wider Putney community. Our unique location under the railway arches on Winthorpe Road has become a landmark for fitness enthusiasts seeking a supportive and authentic training environment.

Physical Culture isn't your typical gym. Founded nearly a century ago, we've maintained a commitment to excellence in strength training, offering top-tier equipment like Swedish Eleiko barbells. Our minimalist yet well-equipped space has attracted a diverse membership, from beginners to seasoned athletes, including notable figures like Sean Connery and Commonwealth medallist Michael Pearman.

Owner Chris Quinn, who has been at the helm since the late 1980s, emphasises the importance of community and camaraderie.
